Finch is a California native who started playing softball when she was five years old. Doug Finch, Jennie's father was her very first pitching trainer. He invented the Finch Windmill, a conditioning tool which Jennie began using at 10. When she was in high school Jennie threw a six-hit game, and had 13 no-hitters. In the years following graduation, she attended the University of Arizona and was named a three-time All American pitcher as and a first-baseman. The year 2001 was the year her Wildcats team took home the National Championship title, and again in 2002 she was awarded an award called the Honda Award for the best softball player in the United States. Wounded Warrior's Amputee softball team (WWAST) has a mission to bring awareness to the military through exhibition softball and celebrity events and highlight the strength of our soldiers. Our goal is to show others who are amputees as well as the general population that these athletes through intensive rehabilitation and training can express their wishes and play their sport that they have always loved.
